Exciting Turquoise

Turquoise….Turquoise is found in only a few places around the globe, mostly dry areas where aluminum and phosphorus in the soil react with copper in the groundwater, creating this opaque stone. According to the Gemological Institute of America, the name turquoise comes from its association with Turkey.

No wonder, then that rugs and interiors now revolve around this color of nature.  Representative of sky and water, the tones and textures of turquoise transform any interior to an exciting and vibrant space…bringing the outdoors inside, what can be better?

Modern and contemporary interiors aren’t exempt from the drama offered by turquoise!  Paired with white, turquoise is a striking contrast…providing pop and interest.  Gold lends an air of elegance, as always, but seems even more exotic and rich when mixed with earthy turquoise….
